March Madness Comes to Town!!

As you may have guessed from previous posts, I’m a pretty big sports fan. So I was super excited that St. Louis was hosting some of the March Madness games. I figured I would just have to soak up the atmosphere from one of St. Louis’s many sports bars, but luckily a friend of mine won tickets to the Kansas vs. North Carolina game held at the Edward Jones Dome. I was pumped! I haven’t been to a college basketball game in years…and I had forgotten how much fun they are.

The place was packed and everyone was wearing their team’s particular shade of blue. It was crazy! Everyone was cheering (sometimes boo-ing). There was a pretty equal mix of Kansas and North Carolina fans, so the stadium was pretty much on their feet and screaming the whole time at one play or another. I wasn’t incredibly invested in either team (my beloved Notre Dame had already gotten destroyed earlier in the bracket), but I had picked Kansas to win because I think their uniforms are nicer. Yes, that’s really how I pick March Madness brackets. Goodness knows the rankings don’t seem to make a difference.

We had an amazing time in the best sports town in the country. The game was one of the most exciting I had watched this season. It was close the whole time until the Jayhawks took the lead in the last few minutes and blazed ahead of the Tarheels. Woo hoo!! Go Kansas (and my bracket)!! It was a great way to relax and have some fun before being bombarded with the last papers and projects of the semester.
